Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY

Manages all commercial aspects of target and production programs within assigned accounts in a highly visible, organized and profitable manner from inception through build-out including opportunity generation, change management, past due resolution and launch budgeting, issue management and profitability. Manages customer relationships to ensure that the customer remains satisfied and that the company is the supplier of choice at assigned accounts. Demonstrates Client's Core Operating Values through work activities, actions and behaviors.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Includes the following, but not limited to:

1. Manages all program commercial activities for Customer Request For Quotations (RFQs), Engineering Change Management and the New Product Review (NPR) product launch process for all assigned programs including:
a. Proposal/Quote development support including resolution of missing information and specification clarification, feasibility assessment, presentation and negotiation.
b. Facilitates and oversees the development of program launch timelines, milestones, and program launch materials that meet customer’s requirements.
c. Manages the program/product’s financial metrics, such as pricing, profit, costing, and the accounts receivable/payment activities.
d. Obtains approval for the cash flow planning on new product developments and manages project budgets through TMO's and Customer Tooling Database.
e. Acts as the liaison between customer and plant-based cross-functional launch team. Leads the communication strategies and ensures customer reporting requirements are met. Supports customer plant visits.
f. Manages the commercial issue resolution process on existing and launch programs for items such as, volume changes, engineering changes, pricing changes, accounts receivable, charge-back disputes and specification disagreements.

2. Cultivates deep customer relationships based on value and “face time” with a strong focus on customer’s product design and engineering functions with the objective to gain strategic insight on customer needs and competitive influencers which favorably position the company to capture high potential new programs.

3. Acts as an organizational mentor for achieving customer satisfaction at assigned accounts and is the “go-to” source with a thorough understanding of customer systems, processes and expectations.

4. Provides consistent and relevant communication updates utilizing established tools such as open activity tracking lists, opportunity pipeline, meeting minutes, forecasting, schedules and calendars.

5. Assists the Sales Director with annual business planning activities, including forecasting, Account Plan development and new product and customer development.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years (Gr 10) and 8+ years (Gr 11) Automotive Industry experience in engineering and/or program management/account management function
Experience executing within a project/program launch process (Launch Experience)

Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
Die cast, machining & assembly experience in engine and powertrain product segment
Experience with Toyota and Honda their sub-tier suppliers
Fluency in Japanese language

Computer, Technical, mechanical, mathematical and/or scientific skills

Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Solidworks would be a plus.

Proficient skills in Project Management software w/experience working within ERP systems.

Strong understanding of product launch processes and/or automotive APQP process.

Ability to analyze financial and non-financial data and recommend an appropriate course of action.

Communication skills : Verbal, Written, Training, Presenting, etc.

Advanced oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with clarity, high-level of accuracy, persuasiveness and in a positive, influential manner.

Ability to work all levels of internal and external customers to listen and understand their business problems and translate that knowledge into technical business solutions.

Advanced skills in writing proposals, documents, correspondence, manuals, etc.

Advanced presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to lead and facilitate effective meetings (obtain buy-in and collaboration) and/or make presentations to all levels of staff and management (internally and externally). Ability to develop visual presentations (i.e. PowerPoint).
Problem Solving and Decision Making skills

Advanced problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to participate in or lead problem solving sessions, examine various process variables and sets of data and make decisions on resolving issues of medium to high complexity.

Ability to review a large amount of detailed and complicated information and recognize when issues need to be elevated above the launch team for resolution.

Ability to analyze data of medium to high complexity to make recommendations with respect to business case directions.

Leadership skills and/or Project Management skills

Ability to collaborate with and influence others in self-directed work teams to achieve results/goals.
Other- additional skills, travel and shift/schedule requirements, etc.

Ability to liaise with others across operational, functional, and technical disciplines.

Ability to deal with stressful situations with tact and professionalism.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including balancing priorities and deliverables.

Ability to travel frequently by car to office and client manufacturing facilities. Ability to travel by air (domestic/international) to customers, meetings, etc., as needed.

Depending on client base, an understanding of various cultures (Hispanic, Japanese, German, etc.) to allow for effective interaction with Customers, Suppliers, and/or Consultants from differing countries, cultures, or educational backgrounds.

While performing the duties of the job, the team member will:

Stand at the work area and/or sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time while performing assigned duties.

Carry weights of 20 pounds or more.

Frequent travel to customer sites, company locations, and various events by air and by car.

Work Environment:
The office environment is well lighted and climate controlled. Working conditions in the foundry include: hot temperatures in the summer and cool temperatures in the winter and is subjected to continuous noise.
