Mid-Level Project Engineer

Project Engineer
Chula Vista, CA
6+ month contract

The ideal candidate will work within a cross functional team to support program management activities including product development and industrialization. Responsibilities include development of schedules and Detailed Work Statements including monitoring our client's deliverables; assisting in creating, updating and monitoring program activities using MS Project; UPI program tools; using lean concepts and tools (e.g. risk management tools, real time problem resolution, LWW PP, Deliverables Map); supporting Change Requests and Impact Assessments; monitoring engineering priorities and spending; participation in Lean events; coordination with manufacturing and procurement; coordination of assembly, test, and shipment of hardware. Prepare and present proposals/presentations to Program and Customer leadership.

Required Skills
Bachelor's degree with 6+ years relevant experience or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong Analytical skills with the ability to solve technical problems and provide real time resolution.
- Customer Focus, Drive for Results, Technical Skills, Interpersonal Savvy, Commitment to Continuous Improvement, effective Teamwork
- Intermediate to advance skills in MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Background in scheduling, budget and resource planning; evaluation of technical decisions versus schedule and budgetary constraints
- Project Management or project planning experience is a must
- Some travel required

Preferred Skills:
- Manufacturing background or experience
- Lean Product Development (LPD) experience
- Team Center & CATIA skills
- Nacelle component knowledge
