Position Summary

We are in search of a highly skilled Electrical Engineer IV to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). This key role focuses on the design, research, and development of sophisticated electrical systems tailored for space applications. As an SME, you will provide expert guidance on Electrical Engineering (EE) projects, drive innovation, and recommend strategic technical approaches to support our company's growth. You will lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex and high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities

Complex Projects: Lead and engage in several intricate projects that demand innovative solutions. Manage development programs comprehensively from inception through to decommissioning.

Technical Planning: Formulate technical plans, estimates, and schedules. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while handling multiple initiatives concurrently.

Leadership & Mentorship: Provide strong leadership and influence over technical staff. Mentor junior engineers, offering guidance to achieve successful project outcomes.

Scope & Impact: Ensure that project results are pivotal to the success of major programs, influencing critical elements of project achievement.

Independent Work: Operate with a high degree of independence, applying significant initiative and judgment in your work methods and goal-setting.

Technical Documentation: Create detailed design review data packages, proposals, and other essential technical documents.

Technical Expertise

Expertise: Act as an SME with a comprehensive understanding of various systems and their interactions.

Innovation: Create innovative solutions for unique and complex electrical engineering challenges.

Industry Practices: Implement industry best practices and stay updated on emerging trends.

RCCA Processes: Show proficiency in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes, producing thorough RCCA reports.

Recognition: Attain recognition for your professional skills and technical achievements both within the company and the wider engineering community.

Strategic Development: Formulate and execute strategic technical paths to capture significant business opportunities.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Training & Mentoring: Effectively train and guide work groups, leading and influencing teams within the engineering department.

Presentation Skills: Deliver compelling presentations to various audiences, including customers and organizational leadership. Craft persuasive proposals and reports.

Conflict Resolution: Resolve divergent technical viewpoints within teams and with clients, influencing positive outcomes.

Project Communication: Clearly communicate project status and technical details to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 10-14 years of experience, Master’s Degree with 8-12 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 5-9 years of experience.

Experience: Extensive experience in electrical engineering, especially in space applications, with a proven history of leading complex projects and delivering innovative solutions.
