Description: PDS is seeking a Systems Engineer for an open position in Mason, OH 45040. 5 month contract Must be a US Citizen and Have an Active Secret Clearance
The selected individual will use these tools/models to evaluate specific system scenarios, system trades and data collection for model validation.
Individual may act as a subject matter expert on advanced EO/IR sensor model development, EO/IR threat characteristics, or EO/IR component level performance drivers for Infrared Focal Plane Arrays, Read Out Integrated Circuits and Cryogenic Coolers.
Individual may act as the lead of a high performance team and be responsible for the planning and progress reporting of model development and analysis tasks and coordination with functional working group leads, senior management and government counterparts.
The individual will document results in reports and briefings.
The candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work on a variety of technical problems, both individually and as a member of a team, and be capable of independently setting personal goals to coordinate and meet the priorities of different projects in a timely manner.
A successful candidate will possess a significant amount of initiative in seeking out and creating opportunities for test and measurement efforts across a wide variety of optical sensor programs Qualifications
B.S. Degree in engineering, optics, mechanics, or physics with 8 years’ experience or Master’s/Ph.D with 5 years’ experience.
Strong technical background in advanced capabilities of EO/IR sensors and applicable phenomenology, model development, data analysis, discrimination concepts, applications or discrimination algorithms.
Capable of working in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities.
Capable of assuming a study lead role in analyses and coordinating the efforts with other subject matter experts.
Strong analytical and programming skills in MATLAB or programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
