Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Inspector Assembly for an opening in Hawthorne, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • In-process inspection and final verification of production hardware to drawing, process specifications and work order requirements in the PCB/PCBA and assembly manufacturing work centers. • Identify, document, and resolve production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and pursue corrective action as required. • Interface with engineering and production to resolve nonconforming material issues. • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. • Read, interpret and work from free form drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes. • Independently perform verification's and document results in a clear, precise and complete manner. • Material Review Board handling of nonconforming parts, including storage and routing of nonconforming product. • Processing of disposition product through physical and electronic routing. • Lead and co-ordinate the Material Review Board (MRB) and maintain an established quality process and procedures to ensure the identification, segregation, control, and disposition of all nonconforming materials, parts, components, and sub-assemblies • Route disposition parts through the issues process and maintain an organized MRB area. Ensure product is tracked through the appropriate bins and locations as routed through MRB. • Facilitate improvement of the underlying systems used in the documentation and disposition of nonconforming material. Identify process improvements and streamlining opportunities to allow for the efficient handling of nonconforming material. • Support Production Quality with the Issues process
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: • A minimum of three years in Quality Assurance experience in electronic and mechanical assembly. • A minimum of three years experience with the control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action processes. • Must be able to read and interpret design drawings. • Must be able to work required shifts: 1st shift (4:30AM – 3:00PM) or 2nd shift (3:30PM – 2AM) Monday - Friday to include some weekends • Must be able to work overtime • Must have good communication skills and the ability to articulate aerospace hardware and systems problems to technical professionals to initiate resolutions. • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • Associates Degree preferred • Must have good communication skills and the ability to articulate aerospace hardware and systems problems to technical professionals to initiate resolutions. • Substantial knowledge of the control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action processes. • Knowledgeable with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management Systems are a plus. • Experience inspecting solder, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface mounted devices accordance with NASA 8739 and/or IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 standards is preferred. • Wire harness experience in accordance with NASA-STD-8739.3 and 8739.4 and/or IPC-A-620 standards is preferred • Experience preferred with performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices. • Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs. • Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic, be innovative, detail oriented, possess initiative, and team oriented.
