Chipton-Ross is seeking a Propulsion Technician for an opening in Hawthorne, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidates should possess a combination of solid mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience and the willingness and ability to learn. The Propulsion Production technician is responsible for assembly and cleaning of rocket hardware. A dynamic position that requires the flexibility to work on different systems, the ability to troubleshoot anomalies, and can work autonomously to defined schedules while keeping safety and quality at the forefront of everything that is done. • Responsible for cleaning of tools. Responsible for maintaining a professional and neat work area. • Responsible for assisting the technicians and engineers in the cleaning, production, and assembly of critical hardware
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma or GED • Minimum of 2 years of experience working on Aircraft or Rocket engines • Ability to travel to different sites, as needed. • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime and weekends as needed. • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position. • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • Complete training in the staging, installation, processing, removal and de-staging of pressure vessels. • Detail oriented, organized, and demonstrate a high sense of urgency • 3 years of aerospace experience is a plus. • Knowledge of pressure, temperature and flow measurement devices; mechanical and electrical systems; Pressure vessels. • Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem solving and decision making skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills. • The ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet aggressive schedules
EDUCATION: • High School Diploma or GED
WORK HOURS: -5/50, Split Shift - Night: 3:30PM - 2:00AM
