Process Engineer

Description:
PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer Level-2 for an open position in Owego, NY. 
Job Description:
Candidate will be assigned to manufacturing engineering activities associated with the Owego Assembly Business Unit manufacturing efforts at the Owego Facility performing the following functions.:
  • Design of manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Design of arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Design of sequence of operations and specification of procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspection of performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigation and initiation of corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Coordination with program and engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
  • Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.


 
Mandatory Skills:
  • Mechanical engineering and Electrical / mechanical experience in manufacturing assembly support experience is desired.
  • Mechanical Engineering  / Ability to translate requirements from prints and drawings into work instructions and work processed  
  • Previous Manufacturing support roles for circuit card assemblies is desired.
  • SAP and work instruction / routing creation.
  • Circuit card assembly process experience in various disciplines including assembly, soldering processes, coating processes.



Desired Skills:

  • Previous manufacturing build experience.
  • Green belt or Black belt in Lean manufacturing principles a plus.
