MRB/Liaison Engineer, Mechanical Systems
Our client in Greensboro, NC is seeking MRB/Liaison Engineer, Mechanical Systems
The MRB Liaison Mechanical Systems Engineer reviews defects, establishes root cause, provides an acceptable disposition to repair the discrepant condition using engineering principles and determines if a corrective action required.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Reviews, develops, and implements revised/new processes using six sigma/lean principles to be applied to all phases of production, receiving inspection, manufacturing and flight test. 2. Reviews proposed repair dispositions and analysis to determine if the proposed repair is acceptable. 3. Ensures that the proposed repair is equivalent to the Blueprint design and that it will not affect systems functionality. 4. Provides on site technical support; including interpreting Engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, and other systems related documents. 5. Assists in determining if discrepancies are Engineering related or workmanship issues and documents findings. 6. Initiates design and process changes to correct design errors, resolve complex, chronic manufacturing problems to improve produce-ability of the aircraft.
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure: 1. Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering 2. 6+ years experience of MRB type design of Mechanical Systems including any combination of Landing Gears, Hydraulics, Flight Controls, Doors and Air Systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Working knowledge Mechanical Systems concepts and Standard Repair Methods (SRM). 2. Working knowledge of CATIA V5, AutoCad and XAO preferred. 3. Working knowledge of SAP preferred. 4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes. 5. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout an organization. 6. Ability to work independently or within a team oriented environment.
Physical Requirements: 1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors. 2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.). 4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties. 5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions. 6. Effectively communicate in Business English language. 7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties. 8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance echnology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
