Electronics Manufacturing Engineer-VA-OM

Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer in Manassas, VA.

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations

Responsibilities include determining sequence of build, writing work instructions, selecting or designing required tools, solving production problems and developing working relationships with multi-disciplined team of people who are dedicated to effectively and efficiently planning and building electronic assemblies. Understanding engineering drawings, processing constraints and techniques

Good verbal and written communication including technical writing. Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings anddefine manufacturing steps to meet all requirements. Ability toread, analyze and interpret various technical procedures and reports and be able to write clear manufacturing and test work instructions. Ability to research, summarize, and present technical challenges and opportunities to organizational management/leadership. Ability to write reports and keep accurate documentation. Experienced in the review of engineering drawings and providing manufacturing floor liaison support. Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes (solder, conformal coating, wiring, crimping, etc.) General computer skills (MS Office Suite / CAD Software) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering preferred but all considered)

Familiarity with ARCI TI16 design and/or platform , Lean Six Sigma experience - Green Belt or Black Belt.
Familiarity with MST tools (EPDM, Solumina,SAP, etc.)
Experience Generating Manufacturing Work Instructions. Experience implementing lean concepts and/or MST Production Flow in low-rate / high-mix environment Experience with defect trending and root cause analysis / corrective action (RCCA) experience.
OLDP graduate 3-5 years out with ME, supervisor, or MPM experience ELDP graduate looking to learn and understand production, manufacturability, and the challenges/opportunities
