JOB TITLE: Aircraft Maintenance Manager - Part 145 Repair Station

DIRECT HIRE ROLE!

LOCATION: W Los Angeles, CA

PAY RATE: $65.00 - $81.00 per hour

Summary:

    Responsible to set the standard for a safe and efficient aircraft maintenance operation.

    Works side by side with other department managers to ensure that aircraft are returned to service safely, on time, and within budget.

    Works directly with the Planner/Scheduler's and Lead Technicians to prioritize the workload and provide clear direction for the team to ensure that schedule commitments are kept.

    Works closely with the Quality Assurance department to maintain the highest levels of workmanship and safety while enforcing company policies and FAA regulatory requirements.

    Oversees daily operation of the maintenance department, ensures adherence to policies and procedures, and looks for opportunities to improve processes.

    Communicates with and assists the planning department when needed to ensure customer estimates are updated in a timely manner and sent for approval.

    Monitors maintenance schedule and shop loading to maintain efficiencies of labor

    Works in conjunction with Maintenance, Avionics, QA, Parts, and Line Service departments to ensure that all operations flow smoothly

    Stays up to date with all planning department estimates/projects to identify any labor deficiencies or potential negative impact on current in work projects.

    Monitors work in progress and works with the planning, parts and the customer to ensure that any additional parts/services are coordinated and report any affect that the additional work might have on the customer's schedule.

    Ensures proper communication between shop floor and maintenance control for approval of squawks and updates regarding changes in cost and estimated completion date.

    Works with team to remove obstacles that may effect on time completion

    Organizes the daily crew lead meetings and establishes team expectations to positively influence the customer's "Return to Service" schedule.

    Ensures that the maintenance departments performance targets are met.

    Provides mentoring and training of Leads, maintenance and support personnel.

    Works with Chief Inspector to continually evaluate and improve quality and production processes and procedures.

    Responsible for ensuring that tools and equipment are maintained and performs needs assessments for additional requirements as required.

    Ensures that all operations are done in accordance with Repair Station Manuals, vendor requirements and current FAA regulations.

Required Skills:

    Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) certificate mandatory

    7+ years experience in aviation maintenance and 5+ on corporate aircraft - Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, Cessna, Falcon experience preferred

    4+ years as a manager or leader of 10+ technicians

    Exp in Part 145 repair station

    Flexible work schedule is required to meet flight profile mission

    Must have a valid driver license with a clean driving record

    A&P license required

    4 years of supervisory experience required

    Pass FAA Drug and Alcohol testing, background checks and submit to random testing when required

    Strong leadership skills are a must

    Ability to promote a team environment and resolve conflict quickly and effectively

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Ability to make decisions and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a safe, efficient manner

    Computer skills Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel

    Must be available to work flexible schedules, including overtime, when required to meet customer schedule requirements

    Some domestic and international travel may be required

Physical Requirements

    Regular use of ladders and maintenance stands

    Comfortable with heights and tight spaces

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    Occasional bending, balancing, kneeling, and crouching

    Standing and walking for extended periods of time

    Good hand-eye coordination with good close/distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.

Desired Skills:

    Gulfstream, Bombardier, Embraer, Cessna, Falcon experience preferred

    IA preferred, but not required

    Aircraft specific training preferred

    Basic knowledge of computerized maintenance tracking programs is desirable
