General Assembly Mechanic (Aerospace Experience Required)

JOB TITLE: General Assembly Mechanic (Aerospace Experience Required)

LOCATION: Irvine, CA

PAY RATE: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Details:

    Contract 8 mos.

    Potential to go direct depending on circumstance after duration of contract

    Possibility for OT - TBD

Summary:

General Assembly Technicians:

    Build a full vehicle and is responsible for learning and maintaining a qualified skill set on all jobs within their assigned area

    Be adequately trained with the standards of the assigned area

    Always learn and promote safety standards

    Support and working together with your team, assemble or attach vehicle components

    Position or align components and parts with vehicles

    Put together parts to build more complex units

    Read and understand assembly instructions and follow established production procedures

    Support management in the planning and execution of the DVB

    Support continuous improvement activities as needed

    Support and complete Daily Shift Reports

    Complete, train and certify in all standard job instructions for all assigned stations

    Support management of all parts supply, documentation, and equipment (including work orders) required for your station(s) to operate

    Attend the daily start-up meeting communicating relevant KPIs

    Observe and provide coaching to contractor in the station to ensure standard work and processes/standards are being followed

Required Skills:

    Associate degree, trade school, military technical training or equivalent experience

    Technical expert of equipment in functional area

    2+ years as an Engineering Technician or similar role

    Be knowledgeable of safety protocols and reporting, MES operations (Andon) and shop floor management

    Understanding of 5S in the workplace

    In-depth knowledge of manufacturing environment and processes

    Organizational and time management skills

    Must be able to complete standard work at all relevant station(s)

    Establishes and maintains visual standards and parts inventory at station(s)

    Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

    Demonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette, and shop safety, and provide verbal and written communication across multiple departments

    Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technologies

    Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Offices

    Exposure to mechanical fabrication tools such as drill presses, saws, mills, hand tools, etc

    Exposure to technologies such as sensors, electronics, controls, pneumatics, valves, and mechanisms

    Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day

    Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

    Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds

    Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather

Battery Technicians:

    Support the Prototype Manufacturing Engineering team in building complex mechanical and electrical assemblies

    Be highly detail oriented and be able to record project build data both at the part level and system level

    Maintain a clean and professional workspace

    Balance and prioritize multiple tasks

    Keep the lab space organized and equipped with supplies

    Works a flexible schedule as required for executing the projects

    Working from engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, and written descriptions

Required Skills:

    Trade school, military technical training or equivalent experience.

    1+ years as an Engineering Technician or similar role

    High interest in relevant technologies such as transmissions, electric motors, E-Axle, and Batteries

    Understanding of 5S in the workplace

    Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

    Demonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette, shop safety, and provide verbal and written communication across multiple department

    Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technologies

    Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Offices

    Exposure to mechanical fabrication tools such as drill presses, saws, mills, hand tools, etc

    Exposure to technologies such as sensors, electronics, controls, pneumatics, valves, and mechanisms
