Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:
1. Manages teams and multiple projects in research, design, and development of mechanical applications to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and ground test / mechanical tests.
2. Additionally responsible for the CAD support of design projects and execution of Engineering design changes.

Qualifications:
1. Familiarity with aerospace design practices including designing for light weight design and random vibration environments; working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis; modeling and drawing creation in Creo/Pro-Engineer.
2. Experience with UTAS designed hardware on the Orion, ESOC and Space Station programs is a plus.
3. Experience with answering Mechanical Design verifications a discriminator.
4. Concept model creation in CREO.
5. Development and Production Drawing Creation in CREO.
6. Marking prints for engineering changes.
7. Do stress analysis modeling and determine structural adequacy as required.
8. Create or modify existing Mechanical Design Verification analysis and memos.

Education:
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. 5+ years of related experience.
