Quality Calibration Inspector

PDS Tech is currently recruiting for an Assembly Inspector to work in Greensboro, NC!

General Summary:
Manage all gages for calibration to include data, ID, and certifications of calibration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collect/return gages monthly that are due for calibration
  • Documents all gages picked up or returned from gage owners
  • Coordinate on site gage calibration vendor personnel
  • Update labels on gages as required
  • Maintain master gage data in SAP
  • Communicates with customers and vendors to exchange information regarding calibration due dates for gages and calibration on site schedule
  • Process quote requests and PO submissions
  • Seek ways to improve I streamline calibration methods and communication channels
  • Cooperative behavior and a helpful attitude
  • Ship and receive gages to various calibration suppliers
  • Use of computers to include Excel, Word, Power Point, SAP
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work any shift and weekends as required
  • Ability to work OT as required
  • Support other activities as required by company requirements and management direction
  • Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Industry related Associates degree preferred and/or minimum 1 year quality experience in related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Gage calibration experience preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience in computer applications such as Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel, Power Point preferred
  • Previous experience in SAP application preferred
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and prioritize in a fast —paced working environment
  • Proficient use of basic manufacturing inspection equipment including: calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, plug and thread gages and electronic height gages
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player

Physical Requirements:

  • Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors
  • Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, state, and Federal regulations, etc.)
  • Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties
  • Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions
  • Effectively communicate in Business English language
  • Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties
  • Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 501bs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties
