Job Summary:

The environmental, health, and safety (EHS) technician will play a key role in the implementation, operation and maintenance of site-specific environmental and safety initiatives for the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain site specific safety policies
• Become familiar with all applicable OSHA and company specific safety policies and oversee subcontractors in the field to ensure they are following OSHA protocols
• Work independently to evaluate jobs/tasks performed in the hangar and at the pad and recommend appropriate PPE, or task modifications to reduce exposure
• Perform safety compliance audits and inventory and coordinate orders for personal protective equipment as needed
• Implement and maintain site specific environmental policies by performing sampling activities for various waste streams (hazardous, wastewater, and storm water) and inspections and monitoring required by NPDES and other discharge permits/plans

Basic Qualifications:

• 2 years’ of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety disciplines
• Experience implementing/developing health and safety plans and policies

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with emergency response crews in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water
• Able to multi-task, to manage shifting priorities, and to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
• Able to work in a construction/industrial environment
• Able to communicate well with technicians and engineers
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Intermediate skill level working with Windows Operating Systems
• Intermediate skill level working with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Additional Requirements:

• General physical fitness is required for some work areas
• Able to move a full drum of waste
• Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments- heat, cold, rain
• Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
• Typically 50 hour work weeks, schedule varies depending on site operational needs
