Mechanical Design Engineer

Description:
Designs mechanical/electro-mechanical components within defined requirements. Gathers trade study and make buy data. Develops initial system component recommendations. Conducts limited engineering analysis and identifies risks. Creates component level proof of concept and performs initial modeling/CAD analysis and prototype development. Develops two dimensional drawings and design specification documentation. Identifies test plan/procedures and makes test recommendations. Documents engineering design development outcome and analysis. Prepares engineering change requests and gathers release documentation. Conducts limited verification/validation analysis. Performs established test procedures and documents outcomes. Conducts limited troubleshooting and may perform root cause analysis and makes recommendations. Investigates equipment failures, gathers operational data and performs limited diagnoses and makes recommendations. Assists with the evaluation of potential changes and/or design modifications.
