Process Engineer

Under the supervision of the Technical Manager this position ensures that performance and quality of products comply with the company established standards. Works closely with the European and American facilities to share best practices during the industrialization of new products. Provides support to the production floor in technical matters related to processes for existing products. Promotes innovation by developing partnerships with local vendors/suppliers and by implementing the newest manufacturing standards deployed in Europe and US. Coordinates new product development projects


• Handles process implementation and management to ensure a robust and cost-effective product
• Provides technical assistance to Product Developers to define the most efficient process flow and
support to Production when launching the process validation phase and the first production
deployment run
• Work as a team with Product Developer, Production, Quality and Maintenance
• Implements lean principles and tools
• Conducts time studies and estimates labor for new products necessary for pricing
• Analyzes product development feasibility, taking into consideration production cost optimization requirements, existing and/or additional technology and resources needed
• Evaluates and coordinates staffing and technical resource requirements
• Defines the right workstation organization/layout taking into consideration ergonomics, safety,
quality, and productivity objectives
• Guarantees that all critical processes regarding quality are fully under control to ensure the highest customer satisfaction
• Evaluates current processes, identifies areas for improvement
• Defines action plans to implement these improvements based on quality, safety, efficiency, and
• Conducts profitability analysis
• Is involved directly in the recommendation and decision-making regarding equipment needs/
selection and asset investment, calculates return on investment (ROI)
• Provides direct technical support to production and assists with all manufacturing and quality
related issues
• Assists effectively the production floor associates in resolving technical issues with troubleshooting
methodologies (i.e. 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis, etc.)
• Maintains abreast of all new processes and technology developments, tools, machines, and
• Requests vendor quotes when new equipment is needed and selects suppliers in collaboration with
other departments involved
• Assures the new technology meets product specifications and ensures adherence to quality and cost
• Defines and follows the implementation schedule when employing new equipment and
communicates potential delays
• Ensures that safety, environment and quality standards are applied and followed
• Participates in cross functional improvement projects (organizations, workflows, change
management, etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary based on business needs
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience with similar responsibilities in a lean manufacturing environment
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, across all levels of the organization
• Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects varying in complexity
• Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team
• Familiarity with capability analysis of manufacturing processes
• Must take initiative and be innovative to contribute to unique ideas and be viewed as value-added in brainstorming settings
• Possesses sound judgment on the utilization of creative ideas and has a sense of managing the creative process
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and continually changing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); MS Project is preferred
• Bilingual skills in English/Spanish (written and oral). French is a plus
• Project Management (PM) Certificate is preferred, PM skills in the industrialization of new products.
• Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is a plus
• Auto Cad experience
• Knowledge of ProChain Software is a plus
