Flight Control System Integration Engineer

In this role you will work and lead activities of Pilot Control System (PCS) as part of Secondary Flight Control System. This will include interfacing with all other aircraft functions and engineering team members to coordinate and obtain the approval of any task assigned contributing to the aircraft ‘Flight Control System’ Development and Certification.

Scope of Work:
1)     PCS System Engineer will work as a team member of Flight Control System Design Group - Secondary Flight Controls IPT.
2)     Basic work scope is to develop and finalize aircraft T/C design, compliant to all applicable Requirements, under company schedule. This activity includes:
i)       Evaluating the current aircraft design, with respect to compliance to the Flight Controls System/PCS related airworthiness regulations of JCAB, FAA and EASA.
ii)      Lead the technical direction with design authority for all integration and development requirements.
iii)     Coordinating integration of design change activities originated from Flight Controls System/PCS requirements when required.
iv)    Oversight on design solutions engineered through requirements based management, complying with CFR 14 Part25, ARP4754A, DO178b, DO254, etc.
v)     Support discussions and presentation of Flight Controls System Compliance with the Regulatory Authorities.
vi)    Executing the requirements of the Type Certification Plan for ATA 27 Flight Controls. 
vii)   Reporting on work status and progress through regular technical and program governance to upper management.
viii)  Execute the plan, schedule and priorities directed by IPT and upper management. Where deviation to plans exists, proposed alternative methods or recovery plans to secure program objectives. 
ix)    Responsible to ensure Flight Controls System/PCS schedule is complete, correct, updated and meet program objectives/milestones.
x)     Responsible for Flight Controls System/PCS deliverables are released under program dates. Coordinate with other areas as required.
xi)    Support other ATAs, IPTs and Departments (Customer Support, Flight Test, RIGS etc.) in relation to ATA27 dependencies to ensure they meet program milestones.
xii)   Responsible for technical requirements integration with applicable Flight Controls System/PCS suppliers and other interfacing suppliers as appropriate.
xiii)  Provide leadership and expertise to assist in resolving the Flight Control System Design Group performance during any rig testing or flight testing.
3)     All tasks required to perform above activities are considered within work scope; initiating/ reviewing related documents, technical calculation, interface discussion with the team members and all the other stakeholders including systems, structures, manufacturing, customer support, and partners.

The primary work location will be in Nagoya, Japan. However, engineers maybe requested to travel or relocate to Seattle or Moses Lake (Washington State, USA) where aircraft flight testing is performed. 
Basic Qualifications
​- Working experience in commercial aerospace
​-10 or more years of experience as Compliance Engineer for Flight Controls System
​-Good communication skills in English
