Propulsion Engineer ( Elkton, MD ) 3636-1, 4008-1
9 Month Contract

Pay rate: $40-50/hr

Responsibilities:
• Support efforts to develop and mature solid rocket motor propulsion system programs and internal research and development activities.
• Support BD with support of new business opportunities via marketing efforts and proposal support.
• Support efforts with creation of preliminary designs in support of new business opportunities and proposals.
• Support propulsion and subsystem IPT leads to ensure technical and cost execution of each system component.
• Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, specifications, and accuracy of dimensioning.
• Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, contractual specification requirements and cost, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Document and present design, manufacturing and testing status as needed.
This requisition may be filled at either as Engineer Propulsion or a Principal Engineer Propulsion Basic

Qualifications Propulsion Engineer:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering & 2 years of experience or Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering & 0 years of experience
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
• Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
• Proficient ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
• Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with suppliers.

Basic Qualifications Principal Propulsion Engineer:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering & 5 years of experience or Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering & 3 years of experience or a PhD
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite
• Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
• Proficient ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
• Knowledge of ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Current Active Security Clearance
• Working knowledge of NX
• Additive manufacturing experience
