Aircraft Flight Test Engineer

**Secret Clearance Required to Start**

Develops and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity. Leads the development of test procedures. Applies lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures. Designs calibration system/test fixtures. Develops data processing tools and algorithms. Generates calibration procedures and software. Guides others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements. Oversees debriefing of the test team. Leads the analysis, processing and formatting of data to customer requirements. Approves test data prior to delivery to customer. Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data. Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity. Trains others. Works under minimal direction.

This position is for an experienced Laboratory / Aircraft Flight Test Engineer to support the full portfolio of mission systems development, upgrade and sustainment for Company Defense military programs at the Military Delivery Center, Tukwila, WA, focusing primarily on Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) platforms.

The engineer is a member of Company Test & Evaluation, responsible to the Programs for planning and execution of system-level tests within the laboratory and flight test environments, maintaining readiness for test via flight qualifications, training, and technical expertise in applicable military sensor and mission systems.
Basic Qualifications (required)
• This position will requires Lab System Test Engineering prior experience.
• Airborne Warning Systems system test or software test experience on mission systems / mission computing systems, or related military mission systems / mission computing systems test experience on other platforms.
• Experience with airborne warning mission systems and software integration of RADAR, IFF, ESM/PDS, Data Links, Comm/Radios.
• Experience using/testing Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems integration into military mission systems.
• This position may fly onboard a test aircraft. This requires candidates: a) To maintain a FAA class 3 flight physical certification. b) To complete land and water survival training (includes swimming pool training). Aircraft egress and hypobaric flight altitude chamber certification.
• Travel up to 25% or more of the time may be required for this role. Travel will be within the United States initially with future international travel potential.
• Must have the ability to work off-shift, weekends, and/or overtime as needed to meet program test objectives.
• Must have at least 5 years of Technical writing experience -For example test procedures, plans and/or reports. This position requires an active full Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Airborne Warning and Control System Aircraft System Technician or other E-3 operator experience.
• Previous qualification operating military mission systems onboard military aircraft.
• Previous experience in flight test engineering supporting military aircraft test programs.
• Previous experience working in DOORs = Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System

Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
