Title: Packaging Supervisor

Location: Addison, Tx




Job Summary: The packaging supervisor is responsible for overseeing the packaging of medical devices in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and product specific methods. These responsibilities include the supervision, guidance and evaluation of packaging personnel in accordance with our client's procedures and policies.



Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise and perform packaging of medical devices to controlled specifications and processes

  • Supervising and documenting packaging operations as required

  • Assigns work schedules and ensures efficient production coverage by assessing available of appropriate Team Members (i.e. daily staffing, PTO, scheduling, training matrix, etc.) and notify Team Leads / Dept. Manager of conflicts as needed

  • Ensures department is run effectively with priority on safety and quality

  • Responsible for meeting standard production timelines

  • Devises action plans for non-conforming/non-standard issues

  • Growth and Development of employees through appropriate coaching and exemplification of the company's core values

  • Maintaining control of assigned in-process materials and tools

  • Providing training to packaging personnel for processes, procedures and safe equipment use.

  • Acts as an extension to Management in their respective department

  • Assumes responsibility for the 5S in responsible area

  • Ensures that Daily Performance Metrics are communicated and met

  • Participates in cross-functional team activities in the development and implementation of new processes, tools and / or equipment and as part of the normal operational needs

  • Assists in the orientation / training of new Team Members and Contingent Labor to the manufacturing process

  • Maintains supervisor's files including electronic personnel transactions, labor, production and quality reports

  • Conducts periodic reviews of existing tooling, fixtures, and gauges

  • Defines / implements cost effective replacements as technology requires

  • Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary










Experience/Skills Required:


  • 3 + years of Supervisory/Management experience. 5+ direct reports- Preferred

  • Experience working in Manufacturing around machining

  • Ability to think analytically

  • Ability to understand and solve manufacturing problems

  • Ability to prioritize/re-prioritize tasks, and successfully conducts root-cause analysis and implements counter measures

  • Ability to deal with technical, scheduling, project management and cost related issues

  • Ability to Supervise and develop others

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes

  • Sound business acumen

  • Computer literacy required: Microsoft Office including spreadsheet, Power Point, and Database MRP/ERP software

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form with co-workers, Team Members, Managers, Customers, and/or vendors as required

  • Flexibility in schedule to ensure customers' needs have been met




Required Education:


  • Associate Degree or equivalent and relevant work experience.




Physical Requirements:


  • Able to frequently lift up to 10lb and occasionally up to 40lb.

  • Able to work 12 hour shifts and overtime when required.

  • Able to properly wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required for the area of operation such as gloves, ear protection, eye protection, smocks, etc.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, lift, reach above shoulders, pull, push, climb up/down stairs.
