Mechanical Design Engineer

Description:
Location: Houston, TX
Rate: $48.25/HR
Duration: 1 year contract
Shift: 1st Shift
Per Diem Split: No

Job Summary:
- Works multiple projects in research, design, and development of mechanical applications to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and ground test / mechanical tests.
- Additionally responsible for the CAD support of design projects and execution of Engineering design changes.

Job Requirements:
- CRITICAL: CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A STRONG PROFICIENCY IN USING 'PRO-E\CREO'
- CRITICAL: DETAILED KNOWLEDGE OF MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES ARE A MUST.
- Candidate must also have the ability to produce and check drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5 and to support, and verify design with standard hand calculations for form, fit, function, and structural strength.
- Knowledge of the standard design process is a must.
- This engineer should be able to prepare reports of results of analysis and experimentation, and the ability to present design content at various design reviews must be evident.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential; Pro-Engineer/CREO knowledge for model, layout, and drawing creation; Finite element analysis tools (ex. ANSYS, Pro-Mechanica, NASTRAN/PATRAN) and able to perform linear stress analysis based on the experience, vibe and shock, fatigue; Hands on and Service mentality Design for Manufacturability.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent team skills.
- Ability to prioritize work independently with little direction while staying on task.
