FPGA Engineer

Description:
Seeking an experienced responsible engineering authority for FPGA development. Responsibilities of this position include:
• Applying advanced technical principles and concepts to develop FPGA designs based on defined system architectures.
• Presenting, explaining, and refining architectural approaches in consultation with other product stakeholders.
• Assessing the impact of system architecture decisions on implementation, and recommending alternatives where appropriate.
• Developing Firmware Requirements Specifications for FPGA designs.
• Determining and following the course of action necessary to implement finished products based on the selected design approach.
• Leading a technical group developing FPGAs VHDL-based RTL and functional design, analysis and verification.
• Integrating FPGA designs into hardware and supporting system integration, test, and qualification.
• Creating and maintaining design documentation.

Requirements of this position include:
• Minimum of 10 years of proven digital hardware engineering experience.
• At least four years of experience designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and delivering digital electronics including, but not limited to, digital units, modules, circuit cards, FPGAs, or ASICs.
• At least four years of engineering leadership experience as Responsible Engineering Authority, team lead, or Integrated Product Team Lead of digital circuit card / module / unit.
• Experience in requirements allocation and generation.
• Experience designing high speed interfaces for memories and SERDES channels.
• Experience designing circuit cards with large FPGAs and Processors.
• Experience with FPGA and CPLD development tools from Xilinx, Altera, and/or MicroSemi.
• Proficiency with Questa/Modelsim for functional verification.
• Familiarity with circuit card assembly (CCA) and final assembly and test manufacturing processes.
• Ability to handle a dynamic environment and to coordinate actions, fast learner.
• Demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, providing technical and schedule status to management, customers and fellow team members.
• Proven customer-focused personality. Experience presenting to and interfacing with customers (internal and external).
