Pay Rate: DOE
Job Type: 6 Month Contract
Schedule: 9/80

**Manager is looking for Level 3 candidates with Creo, modeling, design, and stress backgrounds. Ideal candidates will be self-directed, have leadership/mentorship skills, and are able to identify process improvement opportunities within the teams and responsibilities they support**

Duties:
-The Tool Stress Engineer classifications work with the Tooling Design and Fabrication team in developing and designing a variety of tools and equipment required to support manufacturing, quality and test operations.
-These positions evaluate and structurally analyze tools during all phases of tool design, from initial concepts, to preliminary design models and drawings, to final drawing release, through tool fabrication and into tool usage.
-These positions ensure that tools meet all relevant structural requirements, in accordance with their proposed usage, prior to tool fabrication.
-These positions also structurally analyze design changes and modifications, and address issues during tool usage when they arise.

Skills:
Knowledge of:
-Pertinent codes, rules and regulations related to area of tooling engineering assignment
-Use of analytical, design or process procedures pertinent to the particular field of engineering
-Engineering theory and practice relating to design and structural evaluation of devices or systems
-Design or process procedures in the field of general engineering
-Strength of Materials, Statics, Dynamics, Finite Element Modeling and Statistical methods
-Basic chemical principles
-Engineering test equipment, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Manufacture (CAM) methods, analytical software (ANSYS), and associated computer systems
-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack principles
-Manufacturing methods and fabrication processes
-Quality control and regulatory processes
-Safety regulations, principles and practices of work safety
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), used to produce reports and spreadsheets

Ability to:
-Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
-Read and interpret CAD solid models, product drawings, tool drawings, technical drawings and specifications
-Apply and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
-Conduct structural analyses utilizing classic hand calculation methods and finite element models developed using ANSYS.
-Correlate analysis models and test results.
-Provide input on the tool’s ability to satisfy internal structural requirements as well as those flowed by the customer
-Use solid CAD models provided by other team members, to generate FEA models in ANSYS and other FEA tools
-Perform static and dynamic structural analyses and assess operating margins
-Participate in test planning and execution.
-Correlate structural models to test results
-Perform technical research work and make detailed analyses
-Analyze engineering problems and adopt effective solutions
-Use various computer systems, engineering test equipment, various office and engineering software applications, to produce complete and comprehensive reports, documenting analysis methodologies, assumptions and findings
-Deal with multiple tasks and deadlines set by management
-Operate effectively in a cross-disciplinary team environment
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
-Ability to adhere to safety principles and procedures in a variety of work scenarios

Education:
-A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and 5-10 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
