Description:
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the design, research and development of advanced new applications resulting in new product/business for the company.

Unique Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years as active PP DER or PP EAR
• FAR Certification and DER experience
• Function Codes: 8010E, 8050E, 8070E, 8110E
• Per DER Directory authorization on Chart B : A1, A2, A4, A6, A7, A9, A10, A14, A15, A19 and A20
• Per DER Directory authorization on Chart B : E1, E2, E4, E6, E7, E9, E10, E14, E15, E19 and E20

The ideal candidate will have exposure to some or all of the following Authorized Functions:
• Engine and APU installations
• Fuel and Oil (APU and Engine)
• Thrust Reversers
• Ice Protection (APU and Engine)
• Cooling (APU and Engine)
• Indicating systems (APU and Engine)
• Emissions
• Vibration
• Service Documents (APU and Engine)


Additional Authorized Functions must include:
• CS Authority (APU and Engine)
• Equipment Qualification Tests (APU and Engine)
• Aircraft / Bench Integration Test - Flight (APU and Engine)

Ability to sign the following FAA forms:
• Statement of compliance with Airworthiness standards - form 8100-9
• Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) - form 8110-1
• Request For Conformity (RFC) form 8120-10

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of appropriate education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• Fifteen (15) + year’s progressively responsible engineering exp in specific tech discipline with Bachelors. Exp credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs Masters, 4 yrs PhD in fields applicable to this job. Requires approval of Eng PRB include bus justification.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plans R&D programs and recommends technological application programs to meet corporate objectives
• Proactively promotes process initiatives that improve the balance of technical product, cost and schedule
• Applies cutting edge theories and technologies by exhibiting an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness
• Champions and develops innovative principles and ideas
• Often acts independently and exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments
• As a recognized expert in the field, provides consultative services to senior/executive leaders both within the company and the industry Perform other duties as assigned.
