Description:
JOB SUMMARY

Tool Maker constructs, maintains, calibrates and repairs machine shop tools, jigs and fixtures. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates a variety of machine tools and works with designers and engineers to develop or modify tooling.
• Assignments require considerable ingenuity and are varied in nature.
• Works from blue prints, specifications, and diagrams.
• Checks work using precision inspection instruments and devices.
• May provide technical guidance to other personnel.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with machines to make tooling, using manual and CNC mills, lathes, drill press, band saw and hand grinder
• Experience using power tools such as table saw, jointer and disc sander
