Join an industry leader as a Controls Engineer
As an Controls Engineer at Valmet you'll be part of our Engineering team and apply your skills and experiences to support the performance of large-scale papermaking equipment at our customers facilities across North America.
Responsibilities include:

Developing the machine code in PLC or DNA system as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), software so that equipment functions as specified.

Testing software modifications to the extent possible prior to delivery (shop test).

Participating in or leading start up activities at customer site including checkout of electrical, DNA, PLC and HMI portions; commissioning of equipment; delivery of technical training to customers' operators and/or maintenance personnel as needed.

Participating in service related calls including scheduled or emergency call.
What you'll need:
A two or four-year degree in Engineering, Papermaking Technology, programming, or a related field; three to five years experience in a technical role within the papermaking industry or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Understanding of PLC programming with knowledge of Rockwell software. Knowledge of papermaking machinery and hydraulic systems a plus, but not required. We're willing to work with and train the right individual for their career at Valmet.
