We are recruiting for a permanent Highway/Transportation Design Engineer who will design road systems under any number of conditions and locations within the State of NJ.

Considerations will include soils, elevation, wastewater drainage systems, culverts, concrete or asphalt materials, rebar, on/off ramps, curbs, lighting, traffic patterns and signaling, crosswalks, bike lanes, sidewalks, handicap accessibility, shoulders, maintenance challenges/procedures, extremes of weather conditions, that all effect the design criteria.

Candidate will be expected to apply all locale/State standards, DOT guidelines, knowledge of State offices and common practices and permitting needed for work to be completed. Some knowledge of project management including cost estimates/budget adherence, milestone tracking, seasonality, etc. would all be part of daily responsibilities.

Required:
*5 years’ experience in design of transportation/roadway systems
*Strong MS Office and computer skills including Excel
*Experience using AutoCAD design tool
*Civil Engineering Degree
*EIT or PE Certification
*Experience with NJDOT rules/regulations
