EME (Electro-Magnetic Effects) Senior Engineer

Description:
Seeking an EME Senior Engineer who will be responsible for defining the EME systems for supersonic business jets. As the EME Senior Engineer, you will report to the Electrical Subsystem Lead Engineer.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Perform design and analysis relating to: effects of lightning (direct and indirect), surface charging, circuit grounding, structural bonding, circuit isolation, transfer impedance, shielding effectiveness, effects of radiated/conducted emissions and susceptibility, near field/far field electric fields, corona, etc.
• Perform computational electromagnetics calculations and assessments
• Establish requirements (EMC, EMI, HIRF, LSP, G&B, RF, etc)
• Manage interaction with suppliers
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance
• Define traceability to the FARs
• E3 systems design and integration
• Support the various subsystems and structures IPTs with their development and certification
• Demonstrate an understanding of industry guidelines (MIL-STD-285, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, SAE ARP5412, SAE ARP5414, AC 20-53A, AC 20-107, DO-160, MIL-STD-1541, MIL-STD-1757, etc.)
• Provide subject-matter expert level guidance on both practical and theoretical aspects of the E3 systems design
• Support engineering, certification, and flight test departments from concept to product certification

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering area, Master’s or Ph.D. in relevant technical specialty strongly preferred
• 10+ years of deep, hands-on experience in E3 system design and testing
• In-depth and current knowledge of the regulatory requirements
• Experience and expertise in the development of Commercial and/or high-end business jets strongly desired
• Proven track record working on aerospace development programs
• Known and respected in the technical professional community for expertise in E3 system design and testing
• Customer focus with experience in a global environment working with customers and suppliers
• Proven problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary skill sets
• Ability to generate, understand and interpret the results of engineering analyses
• Strong decision making and communication skills
• Experience with computational and analytical tools typically used in power plant integration
• Experience with CATIA V5 and PLM software is highly desirable
