Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer I for an opening in Camden, NJ.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and analysis of application and embedded software for real-time signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems, cognitive processing systems, software defined radios and satellite communications systems. Our work also includes antenna systems, small, lightweight, low power, man-portable and multi-platform tactical SIGINT systems, integration of sophisticated intelligence systems into mobile platforms, information processing systems and services, bandwidth-efficient satellite and line-of-sight voice, data and control modems, voice and data radios for delivery to worldwide markets, and complete terminals. Tasks include the development of front-end graphical user interface applications for PC and mobile platforms, and back-end application software that includes sensor control, monitor, and configuration software, database systems, and TCP / UDP network software in a multithreaded environment. The individual will be responsible for application and embedded real-time software design, development, systems engineering support, design of requirements and evaluation of code and build scripts. Additional tasks may include software tool support and maintenance, software build process development and maintenance, maintenance of code coverage test tools, software baseline and release management, trouble report and change request tracking, reporting, and administration.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Qualifications A qualified candidate will have a BS degree(Masters' degree preferred), in the field of Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. At least five years of related experience. We will consider Engineers from senior level (5+ years of experience) to senior staff level (9+ years of experience). This position requires expertise in Java, and either C++ or C languages. Development experience on embedded processors such as DSPs, Microcontrollers or FPGAs and multithreaded applications is a must. In addition, development experience with TCP or UDP networked applications, embedded real-time operating systems, software version control systems and issue trackers is required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to thrive in a fast paced, agile, results-oriented environment as an individual contributor, as an effective team player and mediate competing requirements and designs. Experience with GIT, JIRA, graphical user interface application development and software defined radios (SDRs) is preferred. Android development and experience in MATLAB and LabVIEW is desired. Additionally, experience with database systems, solid understanding of object-oriented analysis (OOA) and object-oriented design (OOD), and distributed programming is highly desired. Knowledge of machine learning, cognitive systems, wireless systems and communications theory is preferred. Knowledge of electronic warfare (EW) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) technologies is desired. Strong knowledge of Windows, Web, and cross-platform GUI standards is highly desired. Experience with SEI CMMI policies and procedures is preferred.Must be able to travel 25% of the time.
