Computer Repair Technicians duties include: assess, repair and maintain computers that come into the depot for repair. Utilize tools and technology to repair computers to optimal operating levels, and make repairs to hard drives, and monitors. Use specific tools to diagnose issues, make repairs or replacement to customer computers and test any new parts that are installed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair and Assemble IT related equipment.
Able to interconnect a wide range of electrical peripherals.
Reports on adequacy and accuracy of procedures to the supervisor.
Generates documentation for time cards, integrated work instructions and procedures.
Assists generating corrective action input or opinions.
Provides feedback on problems to Project Lead.
Uses hand tools effectively and safely.
Adhere to company policies, ISO requirements, 5S, safety, and quality workmanship.
Supports continual improvement efforts.
Other duties as required.

Job Skills: Analytical Skills: Computer repair techs need to be able to solve issues that might not have a clear solution. Being able to experiment and use trial and error is important. IT Skills: Using diagnostic tools to assess or monitor computer systems requires knowledge of IT skills. Troubleshooting: Computer repair techs must be able to diagnose, repair and test computer problems as well as diagnostic test tools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One-year certificate from a college or technical school is preferred; 1 to 2 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS The position also requires knowledge of basic hardware and software functions. The computer repair technician should have the writing skills to enter the data in the job ticket correctly. Organizational skills are essential.
