Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Inspector for an opening in Cape Canaveral, FL.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Our quality inspectors are responsible for being the last line of defense in assuring mission success. You will perform in-process inspections and verify that all key performance and design characteristics are met or exceeded during test preparation and Acceptance Testing. You will be working hands on with the most cutting edge rocket technology currently available and will be part of history.
Perform in process, and final inspection on Structures and Propulsion major subassemblies, including mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic parts, components, and sub-assemblies Inspect, verify, and proactively support Structures and Propulsion development and acceptance testing; assuring adherence to design, specification, and testing requirements Document production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and process as required Communicate and help resolve quality related issues as they relate to the site and other client locations i.e. Launch Site, Production, and Manufacturing Process non-conforming product Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance and/or serve as an additional technical resource Determine manufacturing compliance to NASA and customer, as well as internal, specifications to meet launch and mission requirements Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace environment General physical fitness is required for some work areas, flight hardware typically is built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required Acute attention to detail and critical thinking is required Possess a positive can do attitude and be willing to assist anyone at anytime Must be willing to work overtime when required
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Associates degree or higher in quality, engineering, or related field Military experience preferred FAA Airframe and Power plant license Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles, methods, and processes Knowledge of Avionics and electrical systems is preferred Knowledge of Aerospace Propulsion and Principles is preferred Knowledge of Aerospace Structures is a plus Knowledge of GSE Systems and general associated equipment is a plus Preference will be given to qualified local candidates Strong knowledge and experience in Aerospace Standards and its general practices Intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Intermediate level skill with Windows operating systems
EDUCATION: High School Diploma
WORK HOURS: -5/50, Split Shift - Day: (6am or 4pm / 4:30pm or 2:30am)
