Quality Engineer - Secret Clearance

Description:
• Take the lead and ownership of QA processes and procedures and ensure conformance to established company, contractual, and regulatory standards
• Assure that all aspects of the Solaris family of programs' SW and HW Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and proficiency testing practices are sound and within established Quality Assurance guidelines
• Conduct audits and proficiency testing; recommend implementation of preventive measures and corrective action to ensure non-recurrence of deficiencies
• Perform development and execution of Software Quality methods and processes
• Responsible for performing tests, test methods, and test procedures to ensure continuous improvement to Software Quality Assurance standards
• Implements and defines testing methodology and standards to improve results
• Creates and maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software
• Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action
• Consults with senior testers and development engineers to help resolve issues
• Ongoing work towards improving the test process is also expected
• Communicate effectively, both written and oral

Required Experience:
Minimum Bachelor degree in technical discipline or equivalent with minimum of 3 - 6 years of quality engineering experience on spaceflight programs or MS degree with 0-4 years of quality engineering experience;
Willing to work periodic on-call support over off-shifts, weekends and holidays;
Willing to work different shifts as needed throughout the year;
Willing and able to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time; Considerable knowledge of quality control methods and procedures, military specifications as they apply to the electronics industry, reliability requirements of electronic, mechanical and electromechanical equipment and surveillance methods and procedures.;
Basic knowledge of manufacturing, materials, contract administration, industrial, test and design engineering

Desired Skills:
Must be able to be certified to NASA-STD-8739.1, 2, 3 and 4 or have current certifications;
Willing to work periodic on-call support over off-shifts, weekends and holidays;
Willing to work different shifts as needed throughout the year;
Willing and able to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time; Considerable knowledge of quality control methods and procedures, military specifications as they apply to the electronics industry, reliability requirements of electronic, mechanical and electromechanical equipment and surveillance methods and procedures.;
Basic knowledge of manufacturing, materials, contract administration, industrial, test and design engineering.
Knowledge of AS9100, knowledge of Root Cause Analysis tools.
