Environmental Technician II

Job Title: HS - Environmental - Environmental Technician 
Work Location: ALPINE OPERATIONS      
Start/End Dates: 11/1/2019 - 6/1/2020     (7 months)
2 weeks on 2 weeks off. 
Assignment Scope: GENERAL OVERVIEW

Follows the development of environmental issues and concerns at the international, national, and local level in order to be at the front-line for responding to such concerns relevant to oil and gas operation. Gathers data, study and develop an analysis of opportunities which come up from environmental issues and to communicate these finding to management. Prepares operational permit applications, plans, & environmental analyses for small and large projects for all assets. Identifies environmental risks, issues, and mitigation strategies and communicate within HSE, and other internal business partners. Provides oversight and lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management Information System (EMIS). Typically requires 3-5 years of experience. Position will be based out of the Alpine Operations Facility or other Western North Slope camps on the North Slope, working a 2 on, 2 off schedule. Intermediate level. Provides technical/functional and/or administrative support. General working knowledge of specific systems, terminology and procedures used within the department. Performs routine tasks. Able to solve problems and make basic decisions.


-Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data entry.
-Be familiar with CPAI, local, state, and federal spill reporting requirements.
-Be familiar with CPAI, local state tundra disturbance reporting requirements.
-Be familiar with CPAI, local state water withdraws exceedance reporting requirements.
-Basic knowledge (and training) of RCRA and North Slope waste management practices, hazardous waste storage, transportation and disposal, spill volume estimation, reporting and cleanup requirements, ice road construction techniques and activities.
-Be able to cooperatively interface with other CPAI Field Environmental Coordinators, local/state/federal compliance employees.
-Track and comply with numerous permit stipulations and keep all appropriate CPAI employees apprised of compliance status.
-Provide training to contract personnel as needed.
-Bachelor's Degree (preferred in Science/ Environmental Studies).
-NSTC w/H2s.
-Valid Driver’s License
-Physically able to walk long distances across the tundra during summer clean up operations.
Preferred Experience:

- Previous North Slope environmental work experience preferred.
