Supplier Quality Engineer - Direct Hire

Major functions:

In this role, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will support and interface across functional disciplines including Program Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Engineering personnel. The SQE will be an active and significant contributor in the evaluation, development and monitoring of key Suppliers and Subcontractors, create Quality requirements, participate in the generation and review of requirements, and validate flow down of expectations. The SQE will communicate and ensure our Suppliers and Subcontractors understand stated requirements, have the capability to consistently and predicatively meet, and provide conforming products and services. Will manage Supplier and Subcontractor performance and validate the implementation of effective procedures, test methods, and process controls, geared toward risk mitigation. Proactively monitor, analyze, report on, and participate in the improvement of Supplier and Subcontractor process and product performance. Lead failure analysis, complex problem solving and corrective action efforts, and drive the development of technical solutions. Participate and/or lead improvement efforts and as a member of cross-functional teams. While acting as a conduit between the external source and internal resources.

Lead the verification, validation and acceptance of proposed product design and Supplier and Subcontractor process changes. As needed, participate in the review and disposition of nonconforming product while representing the organization as a prime technical resource. SQE will perform Supplier and Subcontractor audits and follow-up assessments as needed.



Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:

Bachelors Degree and minimum 6-years of prior relevant experience or Graduate degree in Engineering, Business or Technical discipline and a minimum of 4-years of prior related experience, preferably in a high volume optical and/or electro-mechanical manufacturing organizations with focus on government, military and law enforcement products.

Extensive technical expertise in either thermal technology, lasers, optics, machining/molding, and/or electronics is required, as is a proven work history in project leadership and technical problem solving.

Experience in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) a plus.

Must be a self-starter and able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and assignments. Intermediate to advanced SPC/Data analysis skills and proven ability to perform DOE, FMEA, ANOVA and Gage R&R analysis a strong plus.
