Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer
(U.S. Citizenship Required*)
Sterling Heights, MI

• Support design, integration, and testing of laser warning receiver onto company platforms.
• Review CAD models and drawings for accuracy and issues
• Develop, track, and manage the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) documentation for the engineering design and requirements verification process.
• Author sections within the Subsystem Design Document (SSDD) describing the design implementation details satisfying the system specification requirements
• Develop and execute verification test plans for compliance checkout against the system specification.
• Support the DFMEA process for identifying and mitigating program/product risks.
• Interface with a variety of engineering groups and personnel to coordinate design, integration and test activities across the organization.
• About 10% travel to test sites in support of overseeing and supporting checkout and verification testing.

• Required – able to obtain security clearance.
• Work well independently, exhibit professional work habits, and have good communications skills (both written and oral).
• Work well with others while creating a work environment that is conducive to teamwork.
• Able to climb on/off, work in and work around military vehicles.
• Proficient in working with and reviewing Pro-E/Creo CAD models.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Teamcenter/VisMockup/Creo, and DOORS.
• Knowledge and understanding of laser systems, the laser energy phenomenon, and laser energy detection and sensor alignment procedures.
*U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of applicable experience following graduation.
