Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) Component Librarian

Electrical Computer Aided Design (ECAD) Component Librarian
(US Citizenship Required*)
Scottsdale, AZ

• Create schematic symbols and footprints (cells) for parts using Mentor Graphics xDM Library tools as requested by HW designers
• Create related surface mount and through hole pad stacks, custom pad stacks for heat sinks, back drill/pressfit connector pins
• Use existing part creation processes, implement new processes to improve symbol creation/approval/release
• Work with Part request systems to manage and direct creation, approvals and status
• Interface with layout designers for PCB footprints and schematic designers for schematic symbols
• Interface with component engineering team and documentation team for new part specifications
• Interface with manufacturing engineers as needed for updates to existing library parts as needed
• Involved in all aspects of symbol development, maintenance and support of CAD library at all levels

• General knowledge of design principles and techniques including computer aided design (CAD)
• Trained/ experienced in the use of current strategic CAD tools (Pro-E/Creo or Solid Works preferred)
• General knowledge of design documentation standards (e.g ASME Y14.5M, Geometric Dimensioning &
• Tolerancing)
• Aware of simple mechanical stress; structural, thermal and tolerance analysis
• Demonstrates initiative, applies personal talent to practical solutions
• Works within the trade space defined (cost / schedule / technology)
• Applies general knowledge effectively in team environment
• Able to accept and integrate constructive feedback
• Demonstrates the ability to weigh risks and make progress in the face of uncertainty
• Willingly takes on problems and commits to solutions
• General proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Fulfills role as a reliable team member and understands own role within team
• Manages time to ensure an assignment's completion
*US Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.

Education and Experience:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent is required and 1+ year of relevant experience
