Computing Security and Information Protection Specialist (Secret)

Description:
**This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance to start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Security clearance must have an in investigation within 5 years.**

Evaluate, communicate, and mitigate computing and information security risks by ensuring appropriate processes are in place and followed so that systems are compliant with applicable requirements.

Develop policies and provide oversight for protection of computing security systems.

Perform security analysis of operational environments, threats vulnerabilities and internal interfaces to define and assess compliance to accepted industry and government standards.

Configure various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and UNIX to meet Joint Air Force Army & Navy 6/3 (JAFAN 6/3) , ICD 503, jSIG and national Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) standards.

Develop certification and accreditation (C&A) documentation for new and existing systems: perform risk managed file extractions in accordance with customer guidance.

Provide audit compliance and assessment support

Review electronic and manual audit logs and investigate any anomalies or security incidents.

Analyze new technologies, both hardware and software, to determine security vulnerabilities and generate mitigations.

Assist in security investigations and incident response.

Interface with the appropriate government customers, suppliers, and company personnel to implement protective mechanisms to ensure understanding of and compliance with government and company computing security requirements.

Ensure that customer needs are effectively promoted in policy and security standards.

The candidate will also participate in and or lead the development of information security training materials and processes as well as train general and privileged users on computing security processes, policies and procedures.

This job requires documenting and presenting for approval Information System Security Plans, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and other written documentation as required by JAFAN 6/3, JSIG, NISPOM, ICD 503 and other customer direction.

IAM Level 1 DOD 8570 Certification or higher. (Security + CE, CAP, GSLC, CASP, CISSP, CISM)

Desired Qualifications:
Experience configuring Windows and/or Linux operating systems security policy settings.

This position is contingent upon clearance verification and program/customer concurrence

Technical bachelors' degree. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
