Mechanical Engineer - HVAC - PE Certification

Description:
Responsibilities

You will also be involved in performance/management of central plant system assessments and inspections to evaluate conditions, operations and maintenance requirements of mechanical systems, engineer mechanical and piping systems to comply with various project scopes of work in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
You will develop and maintain system models and review mechanical /piping system designs created by in-house and outside designers for accuracy, adequacy, quality and completeness.
You will provide recommendations for mechanical /piping system improvements, enhancements and replacements and ensure mechanical / piping projects comply with codes, e.g. CBC, NFPA, ASTM, EPA, OSHA, applicable insurance underwriter requirements, CGMP, Industrial Ventilation Standards, ASHRAE Standards, and Disneyland Resort standards.
You will also have the opportunity to utilize your strong background in chiller, boiler, HVAC and compressed air systems and equipment as well as your knowledge of Carrier Comfort Works, electrical power management, compressed air and natural gas distribution systems, pumps, meters and valves.
Basic Qualifications

BA/BS Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineering License (PE) in the State of California.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the engineering design and repair of mechanical systems.
Must have experience with Chillers, Boilers and Air Compressors, and the distribution systems associated.
Experience using computer-based mechanical engineering and design tools.
Proficiency in the use of electronic mail applications, AutoCADD software, MS Office.
Extensive knowledge of CBC, UMC, UPC, OSHA
Excellent oral, written, listening communication skills.
Ability to clearly communicate complex issues to non-technical peers and to management.
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
Strong personal integrity and customer focus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Desired qualifications:

Strong familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
Experience with title 24 calculations (preferred)
Self Starter, good work ethic
Not afraid to ask questions
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Knowledge and experience working in distributed Central Plants
Must have flexibility in their schedules.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous work history in a campus type of environment with large Central Plants and distributed utility systems.
Knowledge of plumbing codes and systems.
Carrier ComfortVIEW Program experience is a big plus.
