Chief Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary
Acting in a leadership capacity, this position is responsible for the development, transition, optimization and rate manufacturing capability of the manufacturing process to produce 737MAX and 777X Lip Skins in accordance with program need, to include program schedule, quality and cost. This will include a broad range of project and technical management planning, schedule reporting, customer engineering management, leadership and management of the engineering team and full support to the program and operation leadership to achieve all program goals and commitments. 

Functional Responsibilities Include: 
1.Act as a member of the Lip Skin Leadership team, supporting the program objectives and vision. 
2.Responsible for the leadership and development of the processes and control for the manufacturing engineering 
3.Ensure all manufacturing processes are robust and operationally capable for the manufacture of the parts to meet rate manufacture, quality and cost objectives 
4.Lead the manufacturing engineering team to use tools such as advanced problem solving, PFMEA, RCCA and cost benefit analysis to improve the manufacturing processes 
5.Lead the implementation of the processes and procedures and lead successful implementation of process changes 
6.Provide technical leadership in the resolution of manufacturing problems and challenges and provide technical leadership to the operations team to solve manufacturing problems 
7.Coach, develop and grow the manufacturing engineering team 
8.Ensure all processes are in line with customer requirements and client policies and procedures.Support qualification deliverables. 
9.Interfacing with the client's project to ensure consistency and timely deployment of the global project 
10.Achieve the budget for manufacturing engineering (non-recurring and recurring) and support the achievement of recurring hours per the bid.Identify opportunities to continue to improve client's cost competiveness. 
11.Achieve program schedule for manufacturing engineering deliverables.Track and communicate performance to program team. 
12.Assist in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company's overall business objectives and goals, to include issues that involve “safely, quality, process, schedule, people and cost,”. 
13.Ensure the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the   
environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
14.Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Exhibits commitment to quality performance in all aspects of every task or project performed.
 4 year degree in Engineering

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment.  In depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processing preferably including metal forming experience and automated manufacturing methods.  Good understanding of associated disciplines such as six sigma manufacturing process development, tooling, quality, production planning, NDT and structural testing. 
Strong working knowledge of MS Office.  Excellent oral and written skills to include good spelling and grammar skills.  Requires strong working knowledge of configuration management, budget management and project management.  Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and peers.
Mental and Physical Demands
 •Will need to be prepared to frequently travel to California and customer sites in South Carolina and Seattle. Travel may occupy up to 50% of time during program start up
•Interface and interact well with senior levels within the company and our customer 
•Ability to sit and work in an office/desk job setting 
•Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where metal forming and metals processing takes place on a daily basis
