Ingenium is looking for a Test Engineer to work at a client’s facility in Dayton Ohio supporting test of development high speed rotating turbine type equipment. Contract.

Must be a U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident. No Visa or Student Visa candidates considered.

Responsibilities:
Individual serving in this role will operate as a member of one of the new product test teams. The product will be a high speed, pneumatic driven air turbine device connected to a gearbox speed reducer. The general technical direction will be provided by the Staff/Lead test engineers assigned to the product. The role will be as a test supporting element that will be assigned specific test and/or test setup tasks in support of the objectives of the project team. It will be the responsibility of the person serving in this role to complete the required technical activities in compliance with the quality and deliverable requirements provided by the design team project leadership. It will also be the responsibility of this person to complete all necessary reports and documentation supporting the decision-making process necessary to complete the requested tasks.
Desired Qualifications
5 years of experience in testing and test evaluation
Ability to understand complex engineering principles / situations / problems
Ability to work with non-technical personnel on technical matters
High electro-mechanical aptitude
Experience working with reciprocating diesel engines and gas turbine engines and engine control
Experience with engine maintenance
Strong team player with willingness to pitch in and help out where needed
Detail oriented
Experience working with precision data transducers for both mechanical and electrical signal data
acquisition
Experience working with high speed rotating equipment
Experience working with high pressure pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience with LabView for both data acquisition and control applications
Experience with Matlab and Microsoft Office tools
Experience with high speed data acquisition software and hardware
Experience with AC and DC motors, drives, and complex test arrangements

Responsibilities
Assist in creation and implement of test plans for turbine and power transmission subassemblies and complete starter assemblies both on-site and on customer site testing
Assist technical personnel in all aspects of engineering test validation
Make technical decisions by applications of specialized knowledge / skills
Analyze data test results and assist in preparation of necessary summary documentation
Perform and analyze basic and advanced testing and analysis as need to support design and development and test objectives
Participate in recurring, cooperative test planning, and reporting activities
Take direction from Design and Project Leads and the Test Group Leader
Provide hands-on support to the technical teams through preparation and execution of test programs and test set-up and test execution
Develop test plans with the engineering team to ensure proper validation of the components under test
Perform assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review, and implementation on schedule and within budget
Develop and maintain appropriate test procedures, documentation, and training materials as is appropriate to support the operations of the testing areas
Edit and support creation of LabVIEW programs to automate and monitor tests
Support usage of, revision to, and general organization existing LabVIEW programs
Assist in the general maintenance, upkeep, and improvement in the lab and its capabilities by ensuring that the systems and equipment are functioning properly
Ensure proper safeguards are established and maintenance performed for all equipment required for purposes of testing and testing support
Desired Software: LabVIEW experience required. Matlab
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or any specialized equivalent from an accredited university or college preferred. Comparable experience in test of comparable equipment considered
