Systems Design Engineer

Location: Englewood, CO

Detailed Job Description:

The candidate must be able to design and perform basic analysis of mechanical systems (flight controls, door actuation and latch mechanisms, etc), hydraulic systems routing, ECS ducting, and electrical harness routing using provided aero loads, abuse loads, pressure loads, thermal loads and geometric constraints. The candidate must be able to visualize moving components and linkages, create 3D kinematics and define the range of travel with interfaces. In addition, the candidate must be able to derive/verify the internal system linkage loads, create freebody diagrams and perform basic checks for strength/stability. The candidate must be familiar with the design and fabrication of both metallic and composite parts, hydraulic tube and routing as well as a knowledge of standard aerospace hardware (fasteners, bushings, rod ends, etc), hydraulic fittings and electrical connectors. Must be able to complete the design of detail parts, assemblies and drawings using SolidWorks 2019.
