Research & Development Technician

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking US - Research & Development Technician - Lifting 30lbs or less moderate machine operation
IDENTIFIED CANDIDATE - NO SUBMITTALS NECESSARY DICTATED PAY RATE $18.00/HR*** Pilot Plant Operator (Rotating 12 hr Shifts) UOP LLC, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, Inc. UOP's Research Center located at our facility in McCook, IL has an immediate position available for a 12 hour rotating shift Pilot Plant Operator. Pilot plants at UOP are large bench scale assemblies of high pressure equipment where experiments are conducted for the purpose of catalyst and process development for the Refinery and Petrochemical industries. The Pilot Plant Operator will be responsible for operating a group of pilot plants in accordance with the written and oral instructions given by the Pilot Plant technicians and engineers. Perform all necessary tasks and activities affecting the operations, safety, and housekeeping within the department. The work is non-routine and the individual must be more versatile, adaptable, resourceful, and attentive to meet the demands of changing processes and procedures. Position Responsibilities: * Demonstrate consistency in retaining and applying learned skills * Perform tasks or job functions accurately and in a timely manner * Be proficient in the operation of commonly used process equipment. * Operate, monitor and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specification. * Coordinate the operation of an assigned group of pilot plants during plant start-ups, shutdowns, and modifications. * Collect, organize and conduct limited interpretation of results and report those results to the customer. * Operate a PC to perform various functions such as including Excel, Outlook, and Word. * Will ensure there is good communication within the Pilot Plant Testing Group and with Researchers * Ensure compliance with HS&E policies and procedures. * Recommend quality and productivity improvements. Basic Candidate Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED. * Must be willing to work a rotating shift, and get ones hands dirty. * Good math and mechanical aptitude. * Strong work ethic. Independently motivated to produce results. * Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills. * Ability to work in an empowered team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate, share information, resolve issues, give and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner. * Willing and able to regularly lift, stand, bend or other physical exertion as needed Operate, monitor and take readings on a group of pilot plants, as well as make adjustments and take corrective actions to keep the plants on specifications during routine operations. Shift Technicians operate pilot plants while working a 12 hour shift rotating through day and night shifts and are eligible for scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Must be willing to use personal protective equipment. Must be flexible to work at either the Des Plains, IL or McCook, IL facility as assigned. US employment authorization required. Additional Candidate Qualifications: Candidates should be detail oriented, have good communication skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions to accomplish multiple tasks safely. Be sure your candidates are available to start right away once onboarding is complete. Worker will utilize Kronos for weekly time reporting.
