Hot Buck Electrical Engineer

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Hot Buck Electrical Engineer, in Sterling Heights, MI.
This position is in support of a dynamometer "hot buck" combat vehicle platform created to execute mobility performance testing. The Hot buck Electrical Engineer will develop electrical design and be responsible for managing procurement of Bill of Materials and necessary instrumentation for the hot buck. The candidate will support build, preparation, and test execution of the hot buck at the Sterling Heights Mobility and Electrical Test Laboratory. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing testing issues with components and data acquisition equipment, documenting test issues noted with detailed assessments of the event that occurred, and maintaining an organized data log for future reference.

The position role also includes responsibility to:
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with company and program safety objectives.
• Prepare and presenting project technical results and recommendations
• Participate in formal technical reviews
• Provide input and status to project lead on technical content, cost, schedule, and workload requirements.
• Lead the design effort of related mechanical systems with assigned design support
• Support creation of test plans and rep
Skills/Experience/Education Required :
• Experience in the design and integration of one or more of the following electrical systems: Electrical System integration, Electronic module development, Powertrain controls, Power Generation systems, Power distribution systems, Harnessing/cabling, and/or vehicle communication networks.
• Working knowledge of relevant military or commercial design and drawing standards.
• Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
• Good knowledge of electrical systems and advanced knowledge of functional or technical area; advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices in area of expertise.
• Ability to identify, define, interpret, and resolve engineering problems involving conflicting design/contractual/policy or technical requirements across functional areas.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, papers, and presentations and deliver them in written and oral form.
• Experience using CANalyzer or similar vehicle networking tool
• Experience with troubleshooting and diagnostics of vehicle electrical systems.
• Proven experience communicating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and with technicians throughout design, build, and follow-on support. 
• 4+ years of work experience in electrical engineering or related field.  
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent  

Skills Preferred :
• Dynamometer test experience
• Familiarity working in a laboratory and thermal chamber environment
• Familiar with data acquisition equipment selection, installation, and use
• Experience in developing systems for military ground combat vehicles
