Systems Engineer

Description:
Principal systems engineer supporting design, development, test, and verification of projects supporting Surveillance and Targeting Systems (STS) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a systems engineer on an integrated product team (IPT) for the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business unit. The position consists of engineering development on a large, complex, airborne Electro Optic (EO) system. Specific duties include:
• Hands on requirements analysis, definition, and derivation to ensure EOIR system will meet all customer requirements
• Integrating system parameters and design solutions, and conducting functional and performance analysis
• Interacting with engineers from other disciplines, such as Software and Electrical Engineering, to obtain pertinent information required to accomplish tasks
• Developing design verification and system qualification test requirements, plans, and procedures.
• Providing systems engineering support to hardware and software design teams, and to production personnel.
• Assisting with system integration and troubleshooting.
*Required Skills:
• 8+ years of engineering development, integration, test, and qualification experience on airborne electro-optical & infrared (EO/IR) systems.
• Proven written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to interface with design engineers, customers, and end users
• Must be willing to travel for business as needed
• Prior experience developing proposals, bids, and white papers
Desired Skills:
• Broad EO/IR engineering skill base, from among: electrical, systems, software, mechanical, and reliability engineering
• Experience as a Product Owner on an Agile development program
• Experience with production and sustainment of airborne EO/IR systems
• Experience with Technical Supplier Management
• Prior experience as Technical Volume Lead or Proposal Lead on a competitive pursuit
• Strong Risk Assessment & Opportunity skills related to the identification, management, and mitigation of technical risk
