Mechanical Design Engineer - Level 2

Description:
Location: Dallas, TX
Rate: $50.00 - $60.00/HR
Duration: 1 year contract
Shift: 1st Shift

Job Description:

- Mechanical Design Engineer to support the Tactical Missiles Advanced Programs (TMAP) area design effort.
- The candidate will to work to define an operational system (OS) booster and warhead concept for a new missile system.
- The candidate will work with Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) suppliers to evaluate designs, perform detailed design of the Control Section Assembly, Booster Separation System, Booster to Glider Separation System, and vehicle to launcher rack interface.
- The engineer must be proficient in Pro-E/CREO; have good communication skills, and be able to work with internal and external customers.
- Tasks assigned may include generation of Interface Control Drawings (ICD), generation of Instructional Engineering Release (IER), creation of solid models and drawings, and performing tolerance analyses.
- Tasks will include conceptual and detail design of missile integration concept components, systems, and subsystems, and creation of 3D solid models and 2D drawings.
- Effort will require coordination of design(s) with other mechanical / electrical disciplines, and familiarity with missile to aircraft integration concepts.
- The engineer must have an active SECRET security clearance and it is preferred that the employee's investigation is in scope (investigation performed within the past 5 years). Clearance status on resume required.

Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:
**MUST have an Active Secret Clearance or have had one within the last two (2) years**
- Candidate should have a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or 10 years of equivalent experience, and 6-8 years of Computer Aided Design software experience using PRO Engineer / CREO 3.
- Candidate must be capable of creating and interpreting detail, assembly, and installation type drawings, knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and experience with manufacturing engineering and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is desired.
