Description:
HILS Production Bench Engineer

BS Degree in ME / EE. Minimum of 1+ years of industry experience in Hardware In the Loop Simulation ( HILS ) and specific real-time simulation software usage depending on department specialty area. Minimum of 1 year of experience using software tools for standard HILS model and bench construction, visualization, and analysis. Experience in powertrain related model creation and verification, or powertrain related HILS, is especially valued.


The successful candidate must be able to apply standard electrical engineering troubleshooting principles, utilize experiments and various analysis tools to develop HILS (Hardware In The Loop Simulation) configurations. Additionally, support of the development test procedures required to validate integrated control systems on target ECUs to ensure they meet acceptance criteria is expected. Understanding of any collected data necessary to formulate judgments on expected control system behavior would be required. In some cases, it may become necessary to analyze/compare the results, identify discrepancies and explain probable reasons why the response is not as expected.

Qualifications
While and entry-level engineer with limited professional experience is suitable to apply, a candidate should have an electrical degree or have experience working with modern vehicle electronics. BSME, BSEE, or recent graduates of Electrical or Computer programs with verified automotive software related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will receive priority.

Proficiency with Matlab and Simulink is required. Familiarization with dSpace hardware and software is very highly valued. In addition, the ability to work with application-based interfaces (API) or higher-level programming languages would be helpful. CAN based communications and serial communication understanding are beneficial. Basic PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software) and ability to support project deadlines are required. Experience with HILS and control software rapid-prototyping tools (dSPACE toolchain, etc.), plus data acquisition systems (INCA, CANalyzer, etc.) is a plus. Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
