Software Task Master

Description:
ENEA is currently searching for a Software Task Manager to join a newly formed team with an Embedded Medical Device Company in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. The Task Lead is responsible for ensuring the team remains on schedule and within budget.

Task Manager Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

Plans, organizes, directs, and supports all activities identified in individual or multiple delivery/task order(s);

Ensures conformance with task order schedules and costs;

Monitors employee performance and productivity;

Develops and implements training programs and remedial actions as necessary;

Responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards; assigning Contractor schedules;

Reviewing work discrepancies;

Supervising Contractor personnel;

Assisting in all project management task performance;

Preparing, reviewing and submitting required reports and communicating policies, purpose and goals of the organization to subordinates; and

Shall be responsible for the overall Task Order performance and quality assurance.

Responsible for assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing the schedule to ensure the timely completion of the tasks milestones and final acceptance.
Must be familiar with the systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member to coordinate the activities of the team.

The candidate will be expected to understand development tasks and provide leadership across multiple areas of software engineering. This position requires understanding of the overall software development process as it applies to FDA Class II Medical Device software development. The candidate will require the ability to understand the “big picture” of the Ultrasound system and must be able to understand and prioritize issues as they arise.

Monitors each assigned task, implements and assures adherence to task level quality and methodology standards, and keeps the Program Manager abreast of all problems and accomplishments. Anticipates problems and works to mitigate the anticipated problems.

As a task leader, provides technical direction for the complete task effort. Reviews and evaluates work of subordinate staff and prepares performance reports. May serve as a technical authority for a particular task area.

As a staff specialist, resolves unique and unyielding systems problems using new technology. Can complete tasks within estimated periods and budget constraints. Interacts with client management personnel. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding all assigned tasks. Reports in writing and orally to company and client representatives. Performs all functional duties independently. Works on high-visibility programs, or safety-critical aspects of assigned program(s).


Required Qualifications

A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management or related discipline is preferred; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred;

Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or safety-critical aspects of a given program;

Able to oversee the efforts of resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job;

Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel;

Experience with assembling and leading software development teams of various sizes, including identifying needed resources, team building, assigning individual responsibilities, and developing a schedule for task completion and acceptance;

Experience with managing tasks orders/projects to successful completion within estimated time frames and budget constraints, including task planning, status monitoring and reporting;

Able to provide both programmatic and technical direction as needed;

Extensive experience with problem resolution and risk/issue management;

Extensive experience interacting with client personnel at multiple management levels


Desired Qualifications

FDA Domain knowledge

Experience on Real-time embedded development programs

Experience with C++, C#, Windows & Visual Studio 2013

Experience with Risk and Opportunity Management

Proposal preparation and estimation

Familiarity with the following Tools: MS Project, iStatus, PMX tools, Git, Mantis, SBT, Risk tools, Software tracking book

Experience with Agile/SCRUM development
