Structural Integrity Engineers

PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Structural Integrity Engineers in Wichita, KS

Responsible for material selection, configuration, and sizing for structure of new products, as well as for providing production and field support for existing products.
Perform design evaluation, considering durability, fracture, crack growth, and inspection interval determinations.
Generate operations spectra, internal loads, and stress spectra.
Provide production support, including the evaluation of discrepancies and the responsibility for dispositions to ensure that all products meet the fatigue and damage tolerance requirements.
Develop and conduct cyclic, material, and residual strength tests in support of 14 CR regulations.
Modify and develop software code in support of test and analysis functions.
Use CATIA modeling software to analyze and evaluate design configurations.

• Review Engineering Drawings and Digital Data to ensure efficient load path and adequate structural strength and stiffness
• Work with various groups within Product Engineering to develop structural test procedures and pass/fail criteria.
• Keep detailed Stress Notes on design changes and production non-conformances
• Utilize Finite Element Software to solve complex structural problems
• Prepare Structural Reports in support of FAA compliance findings on fleet aircraft modifications and existing production aircraft.
• Perform structural analysis in support of new design and production support activities.
• Conduct performance and structural testing
• Participate in the development and improvement structural test processes and tools.

• B.S. or advanced degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, Statistics or related technical degree required
• Minimum 7 years of experience in General Aviation or Business Aircraft development programs

Additional Notes from Manager
• Working knowledge of generic CAD design tool processes. Experience in CATIA V5 or V6 is preferred
• Ability to read and produce 2D drawings using standard industry practices
• Skills in Microsoft Office suite software
• C programming and assembler preferred
• Visual Programming language preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
