Mechanical systems design engineer

Description:
Responsible for the design, analysis, fabrication, and installation of various
mechanical and fluid system components as well as task management of several system
design engineers.
A key aspect of this role is the opportunity to tackle a diverse set of design challenges from
ideation thru to installation and test.
Main Responsibilities:
● In conjunction with system owners, perform the design, analysis, component
selection, drawing creation, and integration of fluid system lines, components,
and secondary structure
● Perform drawing check, participate in peer reviews, preliminary design
reviews, critical design reviews, mentor junior engineers in skills required for
fluid system design and integration
● Provide additional bandwidth creating technical drawing packages across the
aircraft systems team
● Support technical design reviews for all mechanical and fluid systems
Qualifications:
● 7+ years’ experience with fluid system design, analysis, fabrication, test, and
integration
● Working knowledge of high pressure systems, flow induced vibration,
compressible and incompressible flow
● Expert in a major CAD package (NX, CATIA, Solidworks), proficient in drawing
creation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
● Capable designer of secondary structure, able to perform structural hand
calculations, simple finite element analysis
● Proficient with processing of aerospace material and tubing -
