What You’ll Do:

Wire Harness Installation Design is a unique opportunity to use both electrical and mechanical skills. This position also allows the possibility to see released engineering be installed while supporting the build during shipside support.
During the design phase:
Analyze functional schematics and wire diagrams to understand system design.
Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
Perform design reviews to validate spatial integration and requirements verification.
Develop and maintain electrical product details, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry).
During the build phase:
Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
Works under general direction.
Develop, maintain and release electrical/mechanical drawings, systems design or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards.
Use design tools prepares documentation and incorporates design changes.
Create, develop and maintain systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and assisting in identifying design discrepancies.
Support engineering system design and functionality validation activities.
Develop and maintain product installation designs and part designs ranging from simple to moderately complex.
Coordinate activities and products with internal partners and external suppliers.
Works under general direction.
 

What You’ll Need:

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required at time of hire, an active Secret Clearance is preferred.
Defense experience preferred to but not required.
Some travel may be required.
*U.S. Citizenship is required by law, regulation, executive order, or government contract.



Education & Experience:

7+ years of designing or supporting electrical wire harness Installations.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, computer science (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master+5 years' related work experience).
ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
